Uzbekistan Airways to Launch Direct Tashkent–Guangzhou Service on May 27 with Boeing 787-8 Operations

[Aviation News]   Uzbekistan Airways, the national flag carrier of Uzbekistan, will officially launch scheduled nonstop flights between Tashkent and Guangzhou starting May 27, 2026, further expanding the airline’s network in the Chinese market.

The airline plans to operate the Tashkent–Guangzhou route once weekly under flight numbers HY573/574 using the Boeing 787-8. Uzbekistan Airways has previously deployed the same aircraft type on its China routes serving Beijing Daxing and Shenzhen.

With the launch of the new service, the Tashkent–Guangzhou market will welcome a fourth carrier. The other operators currently serving the route include Centrum Air with six weekly flights, Qanot Sharq with two weekly flights, and China Southern Airlines with three weekly flights. Combined, the market will offer up to 12 weekly round-trip flights between the two cities.

Uzbekistan Airways was founded in 1992 and is headquartered in Tashkent. The airline operates from its hub at Tashkent International Airport (TAS). As of 2025, the carrier operates a fleet of 55 aircraft and serves 56 destinations across Asia, Europe, and North America.

In the Chinese market, Uzbekistan Airways has gradually expanded its network with services to Beijing, Urumqi, Hangzhou, Sanya, and Shenzhen. Guangzhou will become the airline’s sixth destination in China.
