[Aviation News] Shenzhen Airlines’ first Airbus A350 widebody aircraft is set to enter commercial service on July 1. On its inaugural day of operations, the aircraft will operate four flights on two high-frequency domestic routes: Shenzhen–Beijing Capital and Shenzhen–Shanghai Hongqiao.

The newly unveiled aircraft features a distinctive special livery design. The left side of the fuselage is themed around a whale motif, while the right side showcases the image of the legendary Dapeng bird, creating a relatively rare dual-sided livery design with strong brand recognition.

The Airbus A350-900 is one of the world’s most widely used next-generation long-haul widebody aircraft types, renowned for its fuel efficiency, extended range, and enhanced passenger comfort. For Shenzhen Airlines, whose fleet has traditionally centered on the Airbus A320 family, Boeing 737 family, and Airbus A330 aircraft, the introduction of the A350 marks a new phase in the development of its widebody fleet.

The arrival of the A350 will further strengthen Shenzhen Airlines’ transport capacity and service capabilities while supporting the continued development of Shenzhen as an international aviation hub. As Shenzhen’s home-based carrier, the airline plans to leverage the new aircraft type to expand its network, enhance service quality, and facilitate greater economic and cultural connectivity between the Greater Bay Area and the Asia-Pacific region.
