[Aviation News] On April 28, a new Star Alliance branded lounge was officially inaugurated at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport Terminal 3. Following the opening of Asia’s first Star Alliance-branded lounge at the airport’s Terminal 1 in 2024, the new facility marks another major milestone in the deepening strategic cooperation between Baiyun Airport and Star Alliance. Star Alliance has consistently regarded Baiyun Airport as a key strategic partner, with both sides working together to build a high-quality international service ecosystem.

Currently, 10 Star Alliance member airlines operate in Guangzhou, offering 1,500 weekly flights to 52 destinations across 10 countries. Among them, six carriers operate from Terminal 3, including Ethiopian Airlines, EgyptAir, Turkish Airlines, All Nippon Airways, EVA Air and Shenzhen Airlines.
Located in the core international departure area of Terminal 3, the new lounge spans approximately 1,400 square meters and can accommodate around 245 guests simultaneously. The interior continues Star Alliance’s modern minimalist design language while incorporating Lingnan cultural elements, highlighted by a central art installation inspired by Guangzhou’s city flower, the kapok. Through contemporary design, the space reflects the city’s spirit. A standout feature is the lounge’s 700-square-meter outdoor garden, a rare amenity among airport lounges globally. Surrounded by greenery and equipped with leisure seating, the garden offers travelers a tranquil natural setting and a new pre-flight experience.
The lounge includes multiple functional zones designed to meet diverse traveler needs:
Relaxation Area: Equipped with comfortable lounge chairs and soundproof sleep pods for quiet rest.

Business Area: Features private workstations, high-speed Wi-Fi and ample power outlets for productivity.
Private Suites: Two enclosed private spaces available for families or small meetings.
Reading Area: Offers a curated selection of Chinese and international publications in a calm cultural setting.
Food and beverage services are managed by the five-star culinary team of Pullman Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, following a “fresh, nutritious and authentic” concept. Chinese and Western hot dishes, made-to-order noodles, pastries and fresh salads are served throughout the day. A dedicated Cantonese dim sum section offers classics such as har gow and siu mai, while live cooking stations for cheung fun and Cantonese congee allow international travelers to experience Lingnan flavors without leaving the terminal. The bar serves selected wines, Champagne and signature cocktails to cater to diverse global tastes.

The lounge also features on-site tea masters hosting scheduled gongfu tea presentations, introducing tea culture and brewing techniques while serving regional teas such as Phoenix Dancong and Yingde black tea. Kapok-inspired design elements are incorporated throughout the lounge—from the entrance sculpture and wall décor to custom carpets—creating a unified visual identity and allowing guests to experience Guangzhou’s cultural heritage and hospitality while relaxing.
The lounge is operated by Baiyun Airport and follows the high service standards established at the Terminal 1 lounge. It is open 24/7 to match the round-the-clock international operations at Terminal 3. Service staff have received specialized training in multilingual communication, cross-cultural service and emergency response to deliver professional, attentive and efficient service for global travelers. First and business class passengers departing from Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Terminal 3 on Star Alliance member airlines, as well as Star Alliance Gold members regardless of cabin class, are eligible for lounge access.
