[Aviation Insights] Kyrgyzstan-based airline Aero Nomad (IATA code: KA) will officially launch nonstop service between Urumqi and Bishkek on August 3, 2026. The route will be the first nonstop service to China operated by a Kyrgyz airline and will initially operate once weekly using an Airbus A320-200.
The flight schedule is as follows: KA888 will depart Urumqi Tianshan International Airport at 2:45 a.m. every Tuesday and arrive at Bishkek Manas International Airport at 4:45 a.m. The return flight, KA887, will depart Bishkek Manas International Airport at 11:55 p.m. every Monday and arrive at Urumqi Tianshan International Airport at 1:35 a.m. the following day. Aero Nomad is a major international airline based in Kyrgyzstan, with its main hub at Bishkek Manas International Airport and a secondary operating base at Osh International Airport. Its route network covers key regions including Central Asia, South Asia and the Middle East, with services to multiple countries including Russia, India, Pakistan, Türkiye and the United Arab Emirates.
With the addition of the new service, Xinjiang will have three routes connecting with Bishkek and Osh in Kyrgyzstan: Urumqi–Bishkek, Urumqi–Osh and Kashgar–Osh, offering a total of eight weekly round-trip flights. The launch of the new Urumqi–Bishkek service represents a practical step by Xinjiang Airport Group to continue expanding its international route network in Central Asia and strengthening aviation cooperation between China and Kyrgyzstan. The new route will further broaden air connectivity between the two countries and reinforce the aviation links supporting closer bilateral exchanges.
