China Southern Airlines Unveils International Route Plan for the 2026 Summer–Autumn Season

[Industry insight] At an international route promotion event held in Guangzhou for the 2026 summer–autumn aviation season, China Southern Airlines announced adjustments to its international route network for the upcoming season. According to the plan, the airline will add new destinations in Europe and Central Asia while further increasing capacity on routes to Oceania and Southeast Asia, continuing to enhance its international network.

Regarding new routes, China Southern plans to launch a direct service between Beijing Daxing and Helsinki on March 29, 2026. The route will mark the airline’s first service to Finland and will become the only nonstop flight currently operated by a single airline between the capitals of China and Finland. With the launch of the route, air connectivity between China and Northern Europe will be further strengthened, providing new travel options for business, tourism, and transit passengers.

Also scheduled to commence on March 29 is the Guangzhou–Bishkek route. The launch of this service will further expand air connectivity between the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area and Central Asia, enhance links between China and Kyrgyzstan, and provide more convenient air transport support for economic cooperation and cultural exchanges between the two countries.

In addition to the new international destinations, China Southern will also increase capacity on several established routes. The Guangzhou–Sydney service is planned to be increased to three flights per day to meet growing intercontinental travel demand. Meanwhile, the Guangzhou–Perth and Guangzhou–Adelaide routes will be upgraded from seasonal operations to year-round services, further stabilizing capacity in the China–Australia market.

For regional routes, the airline will also increase capacity toward Southeast Asia. Routes such as Guangzhou–Vientiane, Guangzhou–Sabah, and Guangzhou–Penang are planned to see additional flight frequencies, offering more travel choices for leisure, business, and visiting-friends-and-relatives passengers.

As these new seasonal adjustments are gradually implemented, China Southern’s international route network will further expand across key markets including Europe, Central Asia, Oceania, and Southeast Asia, continuing to enhance air connectivity between China and these regions.
