Under the new season, Shanghai Airports will further strengthen their role as a comprehensive international aviation hub, actively supporting airlines in launching new routes and increasing frequencies. A total of 2,516 flights are scheduled daily on average, representing a year-on-year increase of 2.8%, including 1,730 flights at Pudong International Airport and 786 at Hongqiao International Airport. New routes are planned to destinations such as Kolkata in India and Tbilisi in Georgia, alongside increased frequencies to key cities including Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Singapore, Bangkok and Jeju, further strengthening intercontinental connectivity and global reach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For domestic routes (excluding Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan), Shanghai Airports will operate an average of 1,744 daily flights, marking a 3.2% year-on-year increase, with 1,004 flights at Pudong and 740 at Hongqiao. Frequencies will be increased to 34 destinations including Changchun, Kunming, Chengdu, Jieyang, Dali, Guiyang, Dalian and Xiamen, better meeting growing and diversified travel demand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During the new season, Shanghai Airports will deepen strategic cooperation with hub carrier China Eastern Airlines, focusing on key markets including Europe, Australia and New Zealand, Southeast Asia and Central Asia. China Eastern will launch multiple new international routes from Shanghai, including Adelaide, Mumbai, Dublin, Cheongju, Manado, Surabaya, Tbilisi, Ulaanbaatar and Muscat, supporting its ambition to become a world-class global carrier while further enhancing Shanghai\u2019s hub connectivity and transfer capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On March 30, Shanghai Airports will also welcome two new airline entrants: IndiGo and Air Astana.
