On October 29 2024，TransNusa Airlines officially launched regular direct flights from Manado, Indonesia to Guangzhou, China. This is the first time that an overseas airline has used a domestic aircraft to carry out international flights to and from China, and it is also the longest commercial route that the ARJ21 aircraft currently flies.
The first flight departed from Manado, Indonesia at 05:05 Beijing time on October 29, 2024, with ARJ21 aircraft operating the flight code “8B167/8B168”, and successfully arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at about 09:00 AM. At the beginning of the opening of the route, the flights departing from Manado are scheduled to land in Guangzhou at 22:55 every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, and the flights departing from Guangzhou take off at 00:05 every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, three times a week. Increased to daily service from the end of November.
On the day of the maiden flight, TransNusa Airlines, COMAC, CALC and Baiyun Airport jointly held the maiden flight ceremony and press conference at Terminal 2. Leaders of Consulate General of Indonesia in Guangzhou, Central South Regional Administration of Civil Aviation of China, Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China Limited, Guangdong Airport Management Group, Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport and other organizations attended the event and delivered speeches. Qingshan Group, financial institutions, representatives of civil aviation related units, media and other guests witnessed the maiden flight of TransNusa Airlines ARJ21, the first scheduled flight to and from China.
