At 18:41 pm on September 30 2025, Air Serbia flight JU988 arrived at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. This marked the successful first flight of Air Serbia’s “Belgrade-Guangzhou” route.
When the plane landed, the two fire trucks intertwined with precise water columns to form a gorgeous arch, offering the most sincere welcome to the “Sai Tie” who came from afar. This not only marks the glorious first flight of Air Serbia’s “Belgrade-Guangzhou” route, but also marks a new chapter in the friendship and cooperation between China and Serbia.
Air Serbia “Belgrade – Guangzhou” route plans to carry out a total of two round-trip flights every Monday and Friday, the flight is about 12 hours each way. Outbound flight JU988 takes off from Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 00:50 and arrives at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 17:10; The return flight JU989 departs Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport at 22:10 and arrives at Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport at 04:30 the next day (all local times above).
On the day of the inaugural flight, Belgrade Airport held a grand inaugural event. Before the flight took off, H.E. Li Ming, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of China to Serbia, visited the airport to see off the upcoming flight and extended warm welcome and sincere greetings to the passengers who took the first flight to Guangzhou.
After the arrival of the flight, Air Serbia and Guangzhou Baiyun Airport Co., Ltd. held the inaugural flight ceremony at the Sky Stage of T2 Terminal of Guangzhou Baiyun Airport. Serbian government leaders, Serbian Ambassador to China, Serbian Tourism Bureau, Guangdong Provincial Foreign Affairs Office leaders, Guangzhou Municipal Government leaders, Civil Aviation Administration Central South Regional Administration, Guangdong Airport Group leaders, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport leaders, airport customs, border control and public security units and many media journalists witnessed the success of the first flight.
