On July 30 at 1:40 PM, an A321F cargo jet from IndiGo, India’s largest airline, made a smooth landing on the tarmac at Ezhou Huahu International Airport. This successful inaugural flight signaled the start of the regular “Kolkata-Ezhou” all-cargo air route.
Per the latest flight schedule, the “Kolkata-Ezhou” all-cargo route will run three round-trip flights weekly, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, offering 150 tons of weekly air freight capacity between Ezhou and Kolkata. Imports will focus on fresh products, while exports will include cross-border e-commerce items and various general cargo.

The newly inaugurated “Kolkata-Ezhou” all-cargo route is expected to significantly boost central China’s air logistics service capacity to the Indian market, further optimizing the cargo route network between the two regions. This initiative not only broadens the coverage of Hubei’s cross-border logistics network but also provides a more efficient and convenient air transport channel for economic and trade cooperation between China and India.
“With the launch of this route, we anticipate more enterprises from China and India will use this platform to strengthen trade exchanges and explore market opportunities together,” stated a spokesperson for Ezhou Huahu International Airport. “This achievement marks not only a significant milestone in the airport’s development but also a pivotal step in fostering regional economic growth and enhancing international cooperation.”
