[Aviation News] For many years, Air China has used Beijing Capital International Airport as its primary intercontinental hub. In the 2026 summer–autumn aviation season, the airline plans to launch its first long-haul intercontinental services from Beijing Daxing International Airport, marking the beginning of its international long-haul network deployment at Beijing’s second airport. The move will also introduce a new dynamic to Daxing Airport’s route structure, which has so far been largely dominated by China Southern Airlines.

According to the flight schedule, the Beijing Daxing–Frankfurt route will commence on April 28, 2026, operating daily with a Boeing 777-300ER under flight numbers CA957/CA958. The flight is scheduled to depart Beijing Daxing at 13:30 and arrive in Frankfurt at 17:35–17:50 local time. The return flight will depart Frankfurt at approximately 19:10–19:20 and arrive back in Beijing Daxing at 10:45 the following day. Meanwhile, Air China will continue operating the Beijing Capital–Frankfurt route with around 10 weekly flights, maintaining its position as a key European hub route at Beijing Capital Airport.
In addition, the Beijing Daxing–Milan Malpensa route is scheduled to launch on June 13, 2026, operating daily with an Airbus A330-300 under flight numbers CA749/CA750. The flight will depart Beijing Daxing at 13:00 and arrive in Milan at 18:00, while the return service will depart at 20:00 and arrive back in Beijing at 12:10 the following day. Industry analysts believe that Air China’s deployment of intercontinental routes at Daxing Airport signals the gradual formation of a “dual-hub” structure in Beijing, with clearer differentiation—and potentially increased competition—between the two major airports in terms of international route networks in the future.
