Air China and China Eastern Airlines Resume India Routes

[Aviation News]   As air connectivity between China and India continues to recover, Air China and China Eastern Airlines have announced the resumption of services to India, further strengthening bilateral air links. Industry observers believe this move will help boost business travel, tourism recovery, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.

According to the schedule, Air China will launch a Beijing Capital–New Delhi non-stop service on April 21, 2026, operating three times weekly (Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays) with an Airbus A330. Outbound flight CA947 will depart from Beijing Capital International Airport at 15:15 and arrive in New Delhi at 20:20, while the return flight CA948 will depart at 22:50 and arrive in Beijing at 07:40 the following day. This marks the first resumption of the route after nearly six years of suspension.

Meanwhile, China Eastern Airlines will also restore its Southwest China–India network. The airline plans to resume the Kunming–Kolkata route on April 18, 2026. Flight MU555 from Kunming to Kolkata will operate six times weekly (Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays), while the return flight MU556 will also operate six times weekly (Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays). The resumption of this route will further enhance air connectivity between Southwest China and eastern India.
