Gulf Air Adds Frankfurt and Nairobi to Temporary Network to Maintain Regional International Operations

[Aviation News] Gulf Air has announced the addition of two international destinations—Frankfurt and Nairobi—to its temporary commercial network, with services operating via King Fahad International Airport (DMM). The routes are scheduled to operate between March 23 and 28, 2026. This arrangement has been introduced in response to the temporary closure of the airspace of the Bahrain, aiming to maintain essential international connectivity across the airline’s network.

According to the airline, the newly added routes will complement its existing network. Gulf Air currently operates services via Dammam to destinations including London Heathrow Airport, Mumbai, and Bangkok. Through these phased operational adjustments, the airline continues to ensure connectivity for both regional and international air transport flows.

In addition, during the operation of these routes, Gulf Air will provide ground transportation between Bahrain and Dammam to maintain the overall flow of passenger traffic. Industry observers note that such temporary route arrangements and support measures demonstrate the airline’s capability to sustain stable international operations under special operating conditions.
